"As a former Latin dancer I have experienced how debilitating and worrying injury can be. A combination of osteopathy and sports rehabilitation supported me through various injuries and made it possible to continue performing and competing. These positive experiences inspired me to learn about the human body.
I qualified from The British School of Osteopathy with distinction after completing a four year degree course. Prior to studying osteopathy I graduated from St Mary’s College, Twickenham with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Rehabilitation. My sports rehabilitation background combined with osteopathic medicine have provided me with a broad knowledge base and a variety of skills for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. I have a particular interest in dance injuries and have gained experience treating amateur and professional dancers both in the UK and abroad over the last six years. I also regularly treat West-End theatre production members, professional tennis players and athletes.
I am passionate about my profession as an osteopath because of its holistic approach to the care of patients. My practice involves exploring relevant aspects of a patient’s life including diet, exercise, work environment, home environment and family dynamics to explore not only the presenting problem itself, but to understand the circumstances under which it has developed.
My treatment style is open and explanatory. In addition to hands on treatment I aim to educate my patients and show them how to self-manage their complaint using simple exercises and ergonomic advice. I have strong beliefs in rehabilitation, management and prevention techniques and find this to be invaluable in maintaining the beneficial effects of treatment in the long-term and prevent further problems from developing.
I enjoy working with patients of all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly, treating a wide variety of complaints. Drawing on my training and experience I use a variety of osteopathic techniques (structural, visceral, fascial & cranial osteopathy) depending on the patient's needs. I also use therapeutic modalities like ultrasound, taping and strapping, and hydrotherapy as well as remedial massage, neuromuscular techniques and corrective exercises.
I have developed a special interest in treating pregnant women and post partum women. As well as practicing osteopathy I am currently completing a midwifery degree at King’s College London. This brings a special understanding of antenatal and postnatal care to my practice."
